Upgrade work on the rail line between Breich and Midcalder

Many of you will have received a letter from Network Rail regarding ongoing upgrade work on the rail line between Breich and Midcalder Junction but for those who have not then this is an outline of the work.

Between 22nd October 2016 and 31st March 2017 Network Rail will be carrying out foundation installation for the overhead line masts.   The work will mainly be at night, Monday to Thursday 9pm to 6am and at weekends 11pm Saturday to 6am Monday morning.  Work during the weekend will probably include day work when the rail line can be released to Network Rail.  Network Rail have a social media Twitter account (twitter@ShottsLineElec) where they will provide updates on where and when they are actually working.

This operation will be noisy and disruptive during the excavation and piling  periods and work will be carried out every 40 metres.  If you have concerns about this work you can contact Network Rail by email at ShottslineElectrification@networkrail.co.uk or on their National Helpline 03457 114141.

For those who are regular commuters on this line you may want to keep an eye on train schedules.
