As you will know, we have been consulting with the community of Murieston recently to find out what our residents consider are the needs and priorities for Murieston in the near and longer term future. This consultation has enabled Community Enterprise, commissioned by and working with Murieston Development Trust steering group, to create a community action plan for Murieston.
You can read the Community Action Plan below along with the comprehensive research report which sets out the background to the consultation and the Plan.
We will be actively promoting the Community Action Plan, and also progressing actions to set up the Murieston Development Trust at public meetings and events etc. when circumstances permit. Meanwhile we want to give everyone the opportunity to read the Community Action Plan and background information.
We will be having a full dialogue with the community on the Plan etc. when we can arrange meetings and events etc., and before then, we welcome any comments and observations on the Plan which you want to make now.

Consultation of the Murieston Community
We are moving to a position where Community Benefit through various wind farm schemes is now a reality and we want to make sure that money, and any other funding sources that may be available, are put to best use in our community, to make it a great place to live, work and visit.
Working with local independent consultants Community Enterprise, we want to build on some early consultation work and create an exciting and ambitious Community Action Plan that reflects the wants and needs of local people. The Plan will document the aspirations of local residents, voluntary groups and businesses to take on projects that will benefit the whole community and from this Plan, the group will seek funding from a number of different sources.
We want to hear your views about what the priorities should be for Murieston in the short and longer term. What you tell us will help to plan the things that will happen here in the short and longer term and which will make a direct difference to you, your family and neighbours.
We invited residents and people using facilities in Murieston to complete a survey at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/MuriestonCAP or, alternatively, fill in a paper copy of the survey. When the survey closed in early February, 300 individuals had responded and had represented the views of more than 900 people.
The views expressed in the survey, as well as issues etc. discussed with local community groups, community stakeholders, facilities and schools, are now being collated and used in preparing the Community Action Plan for Murieston. This will help us plan projects which can be funded in the short and longer term to make a direct difference to everyone in Murieston.
The initial draft Community Action Plan will be outlined at a public drop-in session on the afternoon of Saturday 29 February between 12 and 4.30pm in Murieston Village Hall when we will welcome your views and feedback. Please drop in and give us your views on shaping the final version of the Plan.
The Plan will then be finalised and published at the end of March.
We will also be giving updates on progress on the Community Action Plan in
