Murieston Community Council has obtained funding to develop the first phase of a community garden within the confines of land adjacent to Murieston Water and the Village Hall.
The community garden will have three separate areas – a growing area adjacent to the Village Hall, a wild flower meadow beside the Murieston Water and a forest garden just off the main driveway to Murieston House.
We have commissioned an architect to design the structural elements of the garden and work is expected to start in the Spring.
The growing area will primarily be raised beds to allow easy access for all; some of these beds being allocated to local schools, after-school club and nursery. It is hoped that keen enthusiasts will come forward and become involved in the final internal layout of the growing area.
If you want somewhere to grow your favourite veg and cut down on food miles, build new acquaintances, this is the project for you.
